Beginning June 2009, passports are required to cruise to all destinations. It's recommended that you do not delay in acquiring a passport if you plan on cruising soon. Passports can take as long as 1 month to aquire.
There are exemptions to this rule however. If you leave and come back to the same port (closed loop cruise), you may only need your original birth certificate and drivers license.
The only problem with this is that if there was an emergency, you would not be able to fly home. Passports are required for that.

If you’ve checked around lately for pricing, you’ll find that discounts are not easy to find these days. Travel agents are required to charge you the same exact rate as those that the cruise lines charge on their website or over the phone. What I can offer you is better than money off. Exceptional customer service! If the price of your cruise goes down, I’ll do my best to get you that new rate or at least an upgrade. No other agent will watch your rate every day as I will to insure that you pay the lowest possible price. I’ll also watch for upgrades that may become available on the cruise you have booked.
